A seaplane carrying three passengers was forced to make an emergency landing on the morning of August 13, stirring a typically quiet stretch of Highway 39 in Braithwaite. Thanks to the quick thinking of the pilot, whose name has not been released, no one was injured in the crash. “The pilot’s actions saved the lives of himself and the passengers,” Sherriff Lonnie Greco said. According to initial reports, the Cessna 206 single-engine plane –which is owned by Southern Seaplane of Belle Chasse- lost power and came in for an emergency landing just east of the Scarsdale ferry.
