The community garden is planted with a variety of vegetables and herbs. Plaquemines residents are invited to gather fresh herbs and veggies in return for their help in maintaining the garden.

Another successful community collaboration

When Judge Michael D. Clement first took office one of his missions was to facilitate community collaboration in an effort to improve the lives of Plaquemines Parish residents. On September 20th, another of Judge Clement’s visions was accomplished with the building of a community garden. Through a partnership with the Belle Chasse YMCA, Phillips 66, Keep America Beautiful and numerous local businesses and organizations, Plaquemines Parish is growing its first community garden whereby parish residents can gather fresh vegetables and herbs in return for their help in maintaining the garden.
