Plaq. community partners provide transportation for 25TH JDC, Div. B

The Greater New Orleans Foundation recently awarded a grant in the amount of $34,500 to the 25th Judicial District Court (JDC), Division B and the Department of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) designated for the purchase of a van to transport at-risk youth residing in Plaquemines Parish to various pro-social and constructive after school and summer activities. The grant was provided through the Plaquemines Community Foundation, Rebuild Plaquemines Fund. The Greater New Orleans Foundation shares the mission of Judge Michael Clement in supporting positive youth development. In fact, two missions of the Greater New Orleans Foundation are to “increase capacity and effectiveness of nonprofits working with parents, families and neighborhoods” and to “ensure that youth-oriented organizations deliver high-quality programs, activities, opportunities and services.” The grant donation will undoubtedly increase DYFS’s effectiveness and delivery of services.
