PPSO hosts Valor Survive & Thrive Officer Safety and Wellness Training
On April 9 and 10, Sheriff Gerald A. Turlich, Jr. and PPSO, in coordination with United States Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Louisiana, were honored to host the Valor Program Survive & Thrive Officer Safety and Wellness Training at the Belle Chasse Auditorium. The two day training class provided law enforcement officers at the patrol and supervisory levels information and techniques to utilize throughout their careers. Topics during this vital class included, Physical Health, Officer-Citizens Encounters, Mitigating Stress, Surviving an Assault, Casualty Care and Rescue Tactics and more. In attendance were 112 law enforcement personnel representing 32 local, state and federal agencies across Louisiana as well as Mississippi.
