PPSO receives TASER donation

On Thursday, October 23, 2014, the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office (PPSO) received a monetary donation toward the purchase of TASER Conducted Electrical Weapon. Retired Freeport-McMoRan Vice-President of Security Dr. Joseph Molyneux and his wife Cindy, also a retired Freeport-McMoRan employee, provided proceeds for the purchase of the TASER. Freeport-McMoRan also made a contribution to the purchase of the weapon. PPSO Commander Eric Becnel coordinated the donation. The donation was made possible as part of Freeport-Mc- MoRan’s Matching Gifts Program, in which employee contributions are matched either 2-for-1 or 1-for-1 depending on the amount. Ms. Pamela Masson, Freeport-McMoRan Foundation Executive Director, urges current and retired Freeport-McMoRan employees to “consider making contributions and utilize this great program.”
