Woodlands Conservancy posts educational videos Weekly at 9 a.m. on their Facebook page through Oct. 20. The videos sponsored by Chevron Oronite cover a variety of topics related to wildlife and vegetations that you can see at Woodlands Trail. The topics include water birds, native plants for wildlife, beavers, otters & minks, butterflies, armadillos, snakes, alligators, invasive aquatics, termites, mushrooms, invasive mammals and pollinators. American Legion Post 329 meets on the third Thurs. of each month at 6:30 p.m. at 104 Hunt Street, Belle Chasse. All Veterans are welcome to join. A meal is served at each meeting. The meeting space is also available to rent for special occasions. Due to COVID-19, the building has not had much use in the recent months. The proceeds from renting out the American Legion Post 329 building really help local veterans by providing funds to vets in need. It also helps with donations to food banks, holiday baskets for children who are disadvantaged and abused, and much more. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
