Williams leads Hurricanes to new heights

The South Plaquemines High School boys basketball team defeated Warren Easton 50-46 for the first time in school history Nov. 29. The Hurricanes were led by Truce Williams (pictured) with 16 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals. Kevin Riley finished with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 4 assists. Keith Riley had 9 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. And Xavien Jackson added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. On Nov. 19, Williams also set the school record for points in a game and notched the first ever tripledouble in boys basketball history when he tallied 43 points, 17 rebounds, 10 steals and 5 assists in an 89-49 win over J.S. Clark High School.
