In October 2020, these four wonderful young ladies wanted to do something for their community. They are all lovers of pets, so they decided to raise money for the Plaquemines SPCA. They held a bake sale and bracelet sale to raise money for animals that desperately need it. They spent all day in the neighborhood asking to support a great cause. They raised $500 and were very excited to go and donate the money they raised and see some of the animals that are awaiting adoption. A proclamation that officially establishes January 14, 2021 as “Dr. Frank J Patti Sr. Day” in Plaquemines passed by a unanimous 9-0 vote at the January 14 Plaquemines Parish Council Meeting. Dr. Frank Patti Sr. was one of the original founders of Mississippi River Bank (MRB), a longstanding community bank in Plaquemines. He died on February 18, 2020.
On Monday, January 11, 2020, Charles J. Ballay was sworn in as District Attorney of Plaquemines Parish (25th Judicial District) to a third term. His son, Brian Ballay, administered the oath while his wife, Claire, held the bible.
