Despite humid temperatures inside and outside the Plaquemines Animal Welfare Society, the Belle Chasse shelter is working on moving toward a semblance of normalcy.

DOTD Secretary Shawn Wilson weathered an early volley of angry, anti-toll questions, complete with yelling and pointing, July 10 in Belle Chasse. But after toll opponents had a chance to vent, he said the public meeting settled into some very productive conversation.

The First Annual Plaquemines Parish Alumni Picnic held on Saturday, June 30 at Fort Jackson was a success! The event was coordinated by John Washington.

BREAKING NEWS!

While sub-freezing temperatures caused school closures and low water pressure in the community, a small benefit was the Belle Chasse Tunnel stopped leaking... temporarily.
