District 5 council member Benny Rousselle reworded his resolution that would send the Plaquemines Port Harbor & Terminal District into a lawsuit against the Belle Chasse Bridge project. Instead of litigation, the resolution now allows Plaquemines Parish Council Attorney Dannie Garrett to represent the port authority in a new round of negotiations involving the Belle Chasse Bridge.
The Plaquemines Medical Center joined forces with Chevron Oronite Oak Point to organize a COVID-19 Prevention giveaway in partnership with Plaquemines Primary Care, Families Helping Families, and the Metropolitan Human Services District. To foster a healthy and safe event during the pandemic, the occasion was a drive-thru arrangement held on August 13 at Plaquemines Medical Center. During this event, more than 200 COVID-19 prevention kits were distributed to community members that included a draw-string bag filled with hand sanitizer, masks, and gloves. PMC is grateful for this partnership opportunity to host this event in the continuation of raising awareness on preventive health precautions and to encourage our local community to wash their hands, wear a mask, and practice social distancing!
