During the May 2018 monthly meeting of the West Bank Art Guild (WBAG), held at the German American Culture Center located on Huey P Long Ave. in Gretna, LA.

When Carol Roberts, Sandy Brechtel, Marty Pellessier, Denise Prados, Cindy and Jimmy Hoyle gathered to celebrate Melvina Sias’s seventy- fifth birthday last July, little did they know that in less than a year the six girls would be in Las Vegas, never touch a slot machine, and hit the jackpot of a lifetime.

A group of Belle Chasse High School students participating in a series of field trips organized by the nonprofit Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL), and sponsored locally by Chevron, took their third trip with “The 300” May 10.
