Basketball phenom Jaliyah Manuel from Belle Chasse will appear in the Season 2 premiere episode of NBC’s family-friendly series “Little Big Shots” on Sunday, March 5 at 7 p.m. She will be performing some of the basketball tricks that have made her a You Tube sensation.

The Plaquemines Parish Public Schools, along with other school districts throughout Louisiana, celebrated School Board Recognition Month in January. Over 640 locally elected school board members throughout Louisiana were recognized by schools and communities for their service and dedication to public education.

Keri Armstrong’s robotics class at Belle Chasse Middle School took 2nd place at the State Junior Beta Club Convention Feb. 14 in Lafayette, and now their sights are set on Disney World. Plaquemines Parish Schools maintained their A rating for the 2015-2016 school year, and increased their School Performance Score from 102.3 to a 108.6.
