VPC and Pivach Law conduct Easter Food Drive

For over a decade, Venice Port Complex (VPC) has assisted the elderly and families in need in South Plaquemines distributing food baskets and frozen dinners at Thanksgiving. The current COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic inspired local attorney George Pivach, II to organize a similar donation effort for the elderly and families in need throughout Plaquemines.

Avery M. Riley, Jr. gives back to community by tutoring at SPES

Avery M. Riley, Jr. grew up in Port Sulphur and attended Port Sulphur High up until Hurricane Katrina, and then graduated from Belle Chasse High in 2008. He attended Louisiana State University where he was initiated into the Theta Kappa Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Riley graduated with a degree in sociology. Following graduation, he went on to the Southern University Law Center as a part-time evening student while working full-time for the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals and the East Baton Rouge City-Parish.

Chevron donates a total of $350,000 to four La. organizations to assist with COVID-19 relief

In an effort to assist communities across Southeast Louisiana amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Chevron’s Gulf of Mexico Business Unit has committed $350,000, in total, to Bayou Community Foundation, Northshore Community Foundation, Northshore Food Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank to supply resources to local families and individuals in need.

As many residents evacuated to escape the path of Hurricane Laura, many of them found temporary refuge in New Orleans. For those able to bring their pets, they struggled to find pet-friendly housing, and some hotels were only pet-friendly for a limited time. Being located in New Orleans, we know just how devastating and stressful hurricanes can be so we knew we had to do anything we could to h elp those in need.
