About 400 guests and participants and hundreds more spectators lining the streets turned out for the Plaquemines Animal Welfare Association’s Pawdi Gras 2019 on March 10. Doggie police and first responders turned out in their best gear to Bark the Blue, the event’s theme.

The talk around town leading up to Family Gras 2019 was whether or not it would rain and perhaps cancel the event. The weather man predicted a 70 percent chance of rain that day, threatening the event. On Sunday, March 3, the weather conditions were dense fog and overcast skies.
