AgCenter, Sea Grant Poll Fishermen About Potential Safe Harbor

The LSU AgCenter and Sea Grant Louisiana discussed plans for a harbor of refuge in Plaquemines Parish at a meeting in the Buras Auditorium on February 4th. Meeting organizers told the assembled crowd of commercial fishermen that they are considering building a safe harbor from tropical storms for commercial boats in the Hero Canal. “I know it sucks when the winds start to pick up.
