Ballay crowned 70th Orange King
By Kari Dequine Harden
Close to 500 people gathered for an elegant dinner and grand ceremony at the Buras Auditorium for the coronation of Charles Ballay – the 70th King of the Plaquemines Parish Fair and Orange Festival, and the current Plaquemines Parish District Attorney. There was a large turnout of queens and kings from the past for the special anniversary event – dressed their best in sparkling gowns and sharp tuxedos. On each table sat a bottle of Ballay family Limoncello.
