DOTD updates Belle Chasse Bridge plan
The State Department of Transportation & Development was back in Belle Chasse last week to provide an update on the proposed replacement to the Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel.
Ahead of a public presentation and a fresh round of public comments, DOTD Project Manager Nick Olivier said the project parameters remain “about 95 percent the same, minus a few revisions.” The primary difference between the Nov. 28 meeting and the previous meeting in July was a new label for the state’s plan to scrap the old infrastructure in favor of a new bridge.
“Today we are officially saying we have put out our selected preferred alternative,” said Olivier.
