Emergency responders unite at Myrtle Grove for GOHSEP disaster exercise

A huge inter-agency hurricane preparedness exercise was held in Plaquemines Parish April 5 for the first time in recent memory.

Employees and officials who have been with the parish as far back as 2008 said this year is the first time they can remember the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) holding its massive disaster response drill in Plaquemines. The state agencies would move to Natchitoches Parish later that day and Ouachita Parish April 6 to replicate the emergency drills.
