LAYAYA builds on 2020 Vision with new year initiative

LAYAYA started 2020 with a “2020 Vision” plan but because of a challenging year the vision had to be adapted and reworked many times. Having no shortage of creative thinkers at LAYAYA, students remastered the plan and designed the LAYAYA Imaginarium Oasis and “The Buzz” Podcast as part of the STEAM Extension Program.

Thanks to their community partners Chevron Oronite Oak Point and Phillips 66, LAYAYA Imaginarium Studios is in the process of building a new outdoor space, the Oasis, and the group films and produces weekly episodes of “The Buzz” on their new sound stage constructed in September. “The Buzz” reaches across several streaming services and is linked to LAYAYA’s social media (www.LAYAYA.org). This media platform aims to help our community “BEE Informed,” “BEE Inspired,” “BEE Creative,” and so much more!

The Oasis

The first phase of the Oasis was scheduled to be completed in early November and open for use by students to use the outdoor area to relax and access the internet to assist with school or homework needs while enjoying a colorful serene art oasis in a socially distanced manner. However, the hurricane season was very active this year and the oasis suffered damages during Hurricane Zeta.
