Lt. Gov. Nungesser rallies fishermen for NOAA relief

Former Plaquemines President and current Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser was in Belle Chasse June 3 to encourage commercial fishermen to begin documenting their losses with an eye toward future government compensation.

Nungesser gathered the fishermen in the back room at Lil G’s Kajun Restaurant first thing in the morning to tell them about his plans to appeal to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for relief. He said the plan is to contract California firm Impact Assessment Inc.
