Phase 1A of Cypress Park is Complete, Phase 2 Awaiting Approval

On Saturday, November 7, David Waltemath, the developer for Cypress Park, hosted a ribbon cutting at the newly established neighborhood to “celebrate the completion of the first 50 homes in the community.” Located on F. Edward Hebert Boulevard in Belle Chasse, these homes are the first step in a 10 year project that will end with 120 new homes in Plaquemines Parish.

The homes in Cypress Park are advertised as “affordable housing” for young families. According to Waltemath, the average price of a home in Cypress Park is $310,000.

“There’s a tremendous amount of demand for these kinds of homes in Plaquemines,” Waltemath said. “Young people in Plaquemines don’t want to leave, but there’s not a lot of housing options that they can afford. Cypress Park is for them.”
