Plaq. dodges worst effects of Hurricane Sally
LLast week, Hurricane Sally threatened to crash right into Plaquemines Parish and all of southeastern Louisiana. That forecast held all the way up until Monday afternoon when it became clear that Sally was a storm with potentially devastating consequences for anything in its path. Fortunately for Plaquemines, the storm took a hard eastern turn, its western side barely tapping the parish at all. For such a low-lying, floodprone parish, this sudden turn came as yet another stroke of luck in this incredibly active 2020 Atlantic hurricane season.
