Plaquemines Port participates in “Two to Tango”

Safety on the Mississippi River for mariners and shore based residents within the Plaquemines Port Harbor and Terminal District is a key responsibility of port personnel and they routinely assist the United States Coast Guard in training and monitoring operations. “Two to Tango” was a recent exercise where the Port M/V Authority I and crew provided transportation assisting the USCG in the search for drugs and proper credentials on vessels in the Mississippi River. “We assist the Coast Guard with random checks on vessels,” said Kerry Cosse’, PPHTD Marine Inspector. “You can often tell from a vessel’s appearance that maybe there is a problem.
