Schulz announces candidacy for Dist. 105 State Representative
Christopher “Chris” Schulz recently announced his candidacy for the District 105 seat in the Louisiana House of Representatives. “I believe we need better representation in Baton Rouge. I am not a career politician, but a resident who believes it is time to act. I will be a strong voice in Baton Rouge for all of the constituents of District 105,” said Schulz.
While there are many issues Schulz believes are important in the district and the state, none are more significant than the state’s desire to impose a 30-year toll for a new Belle Chasse Bridge. “ I’m a CPA and numbers are my business. From the time the state’s proposal was presented, it was clear that this would cost Plaquemines residents and businesses hundreds of dollars a year and Jefferson and Orleans residents who work in Plaquemines even more. I’ve worked against tolls from day 1 and it alarms me that the initial outcry came from the constituents instead of our state officials.
