It was mistakenly reported in the Nov. 1 newspaper and online edition of The Plaquemines Gazette that Rory Jones of Triumph was arrested by the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office for simple burglary on Oct. 24, 2022, but he was actually arrested for simple battery. We regret the error.

Branan Resigns, Quietly Ending Her Participation in the Redistricting Controversy

It would appear that Registrar of Voters Sharan Branan’s role in determining if any “wrongdoing” occurred during the redistricting process has come to a sudden and unexpected end. For the past few months, Branan has put forth allegations that new district maps were tampered with after the July 13 deadline (when all changes are supposed to cease) in order to serve the interests of certain Plaquemines Parish politicians.
