This past week Vladimir Putin announced his perspective on the War in Ukraine and the nature of Russia’s relationship with the West in his Kremlin Speech. The eastern Ukrainian provinces are Russia. In his mind, the invasion of Ukraine was a necessary response to what he perceived as Western aggression against Russian interests. Putin suffers under the illusion that what he fantasizes is real is actually real. This is a common trait among demagogues.

Also available is the Moderna Bivalent Booster COVID-19 vaccine for those 18 years and older and the Pfizer-BioNTech Bivalent COVID-19 Vaccine for individuals 12 years of age and older. Congratulations to Rachelle Cyprian on being named a 2022 Louisiana Elementary School Counselor of the Year Nominee by the Louisiana School Counselor Association. A luncheon was held in her honor along with other nominees on September 25, at the Astor Crowne Plaza in New Orleans. Cyprian is starting her fifth year as Counselor at Boothville-Venice Elementary School.

The 18th annual festival needs hundreds of volunteers in a variety of capacities, including welcoming presenters, escorting authors, assisting with programs, staffing festival information booths, and more.
