A Plaquemines Parish resident—who was arrested back in March 2021 in Bryan, Texas, when a road rage incident he was involved in nearly turned deadly—was indicted by the state of Texas on February 17.

The Louisiana Legislative Youth Advisory Council (LYAC) is still accepting applications for membership from high school students who have an interest in representing the voices of other young people around the state. High school students from around Louisiana are encouraged to apply before the deadline on March 25, 2022. LYAC is an annually appointed body composed entirely of students that tackle issues affecting the youth of Louisiana.

Some have raised concerns about the possibilities of World War III erupting. It may already have begun! Putin expected the West to merely denounce his invasion of Ukraine and accept the inevitable… Russia’s occupation and control over this once independent nation.

When I bring up the subject of Ukraine with friends here in Louisiana, the response is more often than not some interest and a bit of concern, but that’s about all. They don’t feel they are really affected. So should my state feel more empathy about events halfway around the world?
