IN THE GARDEN

Body
I’d like to start by introducing myself as the inaugural article for my new gardening column, which is focused on growing and gardening in St. Bernard and Plaquemines Parishes. I have been with the LSU AgCenter for five years, and previously worked as a landscape contractor and urban farming consultant in New Orleans since 2010. I began with the AgCenter in the Jefferson Parish office, and have been working in the GNO area parishes, including Orleans, St. Charles, St. Bernard, and Plaquemines. I am based out of the Chalmette office and am usually found in my car, visiting home gardeners, farms, and research sites throughout the metro area. No two days are ever the same, and our unique growing climate makes for exciting horticulture work!
