Eastbank receives Hurricane Ida relief supplies from NC

A group of residents from the Eastbank organized a supply giveaway at the Scarsdale ferry landing for the community on Saturday, September 11 and it was a huge success. Some of the supplies handed out were toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, personal care items, bleach, water and many other supplies. The residents also were treated to some hot jambalaya and BBQ. The community would like to thank the wonderful and awesome people of Fayetteville, North Carolina for being so generous in this difficult time. Also, they would like to thank the volunteers from the community for their help as well. More photos on page 12.

Louisiana Fall Elections Delayed Due to Lasting Impacts from Ida

Elections scheduled to be held in the fall have been delayed by 5 weeks due to persistent power outages and damages from Hurricane Ida. Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin announced on Wednesday, September 8 that Governor John Bel Edwards agreed to the delay in a press release posted to the Secretary of State’s website.

Chevron Commits $3 Million to Support Hurricane Ida Relief and Recovery Efforts

Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) announced last week it made a commitment of $3 million to support relief and recovery efforts underway in the communities affected by Hurricane Ida. “Chevron is fully committed to helping our community recover from the impacts of Hurricane Ida,” said Charles Barber, operations manager of Chevron’s Oronite plant in Belle Chasse, Louisiana.
