Mary Ruth Adkins of Belle Chasse, LA, passed away unexpectedly on August 8, 2020 at the age of 63. Mary was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend.
Henry “Hank” J. Bourgeois passed away peacefully at his home in Barataria, LA on March 24, 2020, at the age of 79. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents Woodrow H. and Lorena Plaisance Bourgeois. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly Cambre Bourgeois, his children Kelly Keller (Earl), Steven Bourgeois (Stephanie), granddaughters Colleen Nemes (Sean Sasso), Sydney Wellman (Michael), Samantha Bourgeois, step-granddaughter Tiffany Keller, step great grandson, Aidan Carley, his sister Rosalie Robichaux (Stanley), brothers David Bourgeois (Emelda), Joseph Bourgeois (Betty), Gerard Bourgeois (Beth), Timothy Bourgeois (Susan), his sisters-in-law Judy Duet (Norman), Carolyn Fraychineaud (Albert), Helen Mire (Robert) and Elizabeth Cambre (Ernest Sr.). He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1963. For many years he worked as a shipfitter at Avondale Shipyards, co-owned H & B Welding Service with his close friend Nolan Hebert and retired from the Maintenance Dept. of Chevron Chemical Co. in Belle Chasse, Louisiana after 29 years of service. He was an avid fisherman, loved sitting on his patio with his friends and neighbors telling fish stories and discussing the current news of the day. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends and having family gatherings for fish fries and crawfish boils. Anyone who knew Hank knew they had a good friend they could depend on for life. He was a jack-of-all trades and was always willing to help family and friends with any projects they had. Hank loved animals and they always seemed to love him. The family dogs, Shorty and Jake will miss him greatly. He loved watching baseball and football games, especially the Saints on TV. Hank appreciated God’s gift of nature and loved the outdoors, spending many memorable years with his family and friends “on the farm” in Leakesville, MS. Besides his home in Barataria, Leakesville was his Heaven on Earth and the family is extremely grateful that he was able to experience these fun times with all of us. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Ochsner Hospital (SMU & ICU) and Passages Hospice who cared for Hank in his final days. Hank was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafitte, LA. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2020 in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., in Marrero. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Interment at Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna. Mary Ann Breland Relle passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 81. Mary Ann was a native of Tylertown, Mississippi, and the daughter of the late Burnis and Annie Belle Breland. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Salvador S. Relle; son, Michael K. Relle (Deborah); sister, Faye Breland Cemo (Anthony); and brother, Elton B. Breland (Janice). She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Breland Talley; sister-in-law, Laura Relle Wolfe; children, Cheryl R. Caruso (late Sal), Gary S. Relle (Monica), Karen J. Relle, and Darryl W. Relle (Ann); her many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A resident of Belle Chasse, Louisiana for over 50 years, Mary Ann was an active member of the Belle Chasse Garden Club, the Republican Women of Louisiana, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Relatives and friends attended a Visitation followed by a Funeral Mass on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 6th Street, Gretna, LA. Hannah Aubrey Pavon, passed away peacefully at her home in Belle Chasse, LA, surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 2, 2020, leaving a huge void in the lives of her family and friends; at the age of 28. A private family service was held on August 3, 2020 at Restlawn Cemetery where she was laid to rest. She was the mother of Jameson and Evan Raines, the daughter of Roy and Susan Pavon, sister to Trenton Pavon, the granddaughter of Mary McGovern Monfra and Ekram Qazzaz and the niece to very loving Aunts and Uncles. She is and will be deeply missed.
Charlene Menard Benson, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at the age of 60. She is preceded in death by her parents, Antoine Menard, Jr. and Lydia Nelson Menard; and her sister, Antoinette “Nettie” Menard. She is the beloved wife of Richard Eric Benson. She is the loving mother of Derek Menard (Mindy Jones), Ave’ Russ (Kyle), and Amanda Yedor. She is the devoted grandmother of three lovely grandchildren. She is also survived by a nephew, cousins, other family and friends. Charlene was a proud retired EMT and worked for the Plaquemines Parish prison for a number of years. She was also a former professional dancer and dance teacher at Fred Astaire dance studios. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
