Thomas Larry Barthelemy departed this life on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at his home in Belle Chasse, LA, at the age of 78. He was a native of Port Sulphur, LA.
Barbara Louise Yuratich Shackelford passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at 10:55 p.m. at the age of 94. She was born December 19, 1926 as first child to Frank Yuratich and Isabelle Beckett Yuratich of Bremerton, Washington. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Eugene Shackelford, married 71 years and residents of Plaquemines Parish. Affectionately nicknamed a “bad cook” and a road runner, Barbara’s favorite past-times included making the most delicious meals, playing cards, and creating beautiful quilts. Together, her and Donald traveled world, raised four generations of family, and did their best to bring knowledge, love, and laughter into the world around them. She is sorely missed, but knowing she’s been reunited with Donald, the pain is eased. Barbara is sister to the late Donald Yuratich, mother of the late Donald Ricky Shackelford (Lynn Bono) and Michael Wayne Shackelford (Patricia Parker), grandmother of the late Noah Shackelford, Ryan Shackelford, Alicia Marie Shackelford, Ashley Shackelford Leber (Jeffery), and Sarah Louise Dickerson (Paul), great-grandmother to Danika Marie, Landon Ricky, Baylyn Rose, Brennen Reed, Odin Ryder, and Cooper Eugene. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Family and friends attended the public viewing and services on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA 70058. Our mother, Johnette Hollingsworth Pizzolato, became the brightest star in the sky on January 12, 2021 at the age of 89. She was born in Baton Rouge, LA on July 14, 1931. She was raised in Plaquemine, LA; lived and raised her family in Boothville-Venice, LA for 50 years before moving back to Plaquemine to live out the reminder of her life. She is survived by her children Blake Pizzolato (Dawn), Floretta Gulotta, Brenda Ourso (John “Doonie”), and Peggy Allain (Kevin); grandchildren Emily Ourso Arceneaux (Gary), Katie Pizzolato Deschner (Ryan), Ory Gulotta (Melissa), Chet Allain (Elise), Ellie Gulotta Ourso (Deric), Kirk Allain (Dusti), and honorary granddaughter Gabrielle Landry; great-grandchildren Brock Bourg, Julia Ourso, Annalynn Allain, Jacob Ourso, Carter Gulotta, Sam Deschner, Kent Allain, George Allain, Reece Deschner, Owen Gulotta, John-Paul Allain, and James “Little One” Allain; sisters-inlaw Rose Marie Pizzolato, Loyce Pizzolato, and Gail Pizzolato; and brother-in-law Raymond Schexnayder. Preceded in death by her husband, Samuel “Sam” Charles Pizzolato; parents, Johnnie and Etna Williams Hollingsworth; sonin-law, Orian Gulotta, daughter-in-law, Alma Pizzolato; great grandson, Kirk Allain, Jr. and sister, Patricia Gaddis. Johnette was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and Granny. She especially cherished her grandchildren and the special times that she got to spend with each of them. Johnette lived a full life taking care of her home and yard, fishing with her husband, and doing whatever she could to help others. She had a generous heart and always put others before herself. “C.J.” Casimier J. Scandurro passed away suddenly on Monday, January 11, 2021, at home from a heart attack at the age of 75. He was born on Wednesday, October 10, 1945, in New Orleans, LA, to Dominick J. Scandurro and Gladys Brown Scandurro. CJ was a longtime resident of Ponchatoula, LA, and along with his wife and partner Mary, was the owner and operator of C.J.’s Antiques and Collectibles for 28 years. C.J. was known for his kindness, generosity, honesty, humor and most of all for his family. He was a towering figure who left a mark on the lives of all those who were lucky enough to know him, and he will leave a void in us all, but one that can be partially filled bf the fond memories of the boisterous and larger than life figure he was. He will be loved, missed, and remembered for generations to come. There will never be another man like him. C.J. is survived by his loving wife, Mary Riddle Scandurro, his daughters, Desiree Scandurro and Emily Cenni (Paolo), his grandchildren, Devin, Zoe, Dominick, Mollie, Allie, Luca, Elisa, Rosalie, Samuel, Gianna and Gemma, his brother, Dominick J. Scandurro, Jr. (Alice), his sister, Penny Gasquet (J.F.) also many beloved, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. C.J. was preceded in death by his parents, Dominick J. Scandurro and Gladys Brown Scandurro, and his brother, Michael Scandurro. Due to COVID-19 services will be private for immediate family only and he will be interred at Rosaryville Cemetery in Ponchatoula. In lieu of flowers the family wishes all memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Shriners Children’s Hospital in C.J.’s memory.
