Hien Thi Miles (known as Ann Richard), a native of Viet Nam who lived for some 40 years in Port Sulphur, LA before moving to her current home in Richard, LA, died on the morning of Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA. Survivors include her husband, Rodney “Poppy” Richard of Richard; a daughter, Amanda Treadway and husband Kurt of Richard; her sistersin-law: Bea Frelich and husband Vincent of Belle Chasse, LA, Lois Pelas of Richard, Elizabeth Twiner and husband “Jo- Jo” of Houma, LA; Patricia Boudreaux and husband Carroll of Belle Chasse and Jeanette Scheutz and husband Don of Illinois; her grandsons, Brennan Treadway and wife Jamie, and Caden Treadway and companion Jada, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Miles; her parents, Huynh Diem and Do Thi Sash; two sisters-in law, Anna Mae and Audrey and a brotherin-law, Albert. Called “Nana” and loved and cherished by her extended family and friends, Mrs. Miles loved cooking, fishing, gardening and taking care of her family. She will truly be missed. Family and friends attended the visitation and services at St. Jules Catholic Church in Lafayette, LA on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. Officiant: Father Dan Edwards. A recitation of the Rosary was later said by Father Edwards. Interment: St. Edward Cemetery adjacent to the church in Richard. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made to LOPA.
