In 1937, her family moved to Dallas where Mrs. Wiggins graduated from North Dallas High School. She attended Texas Women’s University majoring in Journalism and in 1950 she met and married Gene B. Wiggins, Jr. After serving a two-year military obligation in Ft. Bliss, Texas, Mr. Wiggins, a geologist, and Mrs. Wiggins lived in Tulsa, OK; Buras and Shreveport, LA; before relocating to Houston. Three children were born during this period including Gene B. Wiggins III, Lisa Anne Wiggins and Claire Lynn Wiggins.
