Beulah R. Swindell

Beulah R. Swindell, of Natchez, died on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Natchez Community Hospital at the age of 87. Mrs. Swindell was born June 11, 1926 in Bell Arthur, NC, the daughter of Paul Samuel Rasberry and Stella Susan Young Rasberry. A native of North Carolina, she was raised in the Arthur Christian Church and a graduate of Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College). She moved to Louisiana in 1951 and then to Natchez in 2003. She was a retired teacher with over 35 years of service and a member of Jefferson Street United Methodist Church. Mrs. Swindell was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard Benson Swindell. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Swindell Cassagne and husband, Gabriel, of Natchez; two grandsons: Andre Gabriel Cassagne of New Orleans and Richard Edward Cassagne and wife, Sarah, of Biloxi, two granddaughters: Julliette Laura Cassagne and Elizabeth Robin Cassagne, both of New Orleans; and a number of nieces and nephews. A visitation and a memorial service for Mrs. Swindell was held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Jefferson Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Kramer officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
