Louise “TeTe” McGinnis Washington

Louise “TeTe” McGinnis Washington departed this life on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Wynhoven Healthcare Center in Marrero, LA at the age of 95. She was a native of Oakville, LA. Daughter of the late Margaret and Fred McGinnis Sr. Beloved mother of Amos Washington Jr., Vernell (Linette) Washington, Mark (Carolyn) Washington Sr., and Mary (Carl) Lemieux. She is preceded in death by her parents, six siblings; Eraster Whiley, Leo McGinnis Sr., Herman Whiley, Fred McGinnis Jr., Betty Weatherstrand and Bernita Taylor. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and other friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastors, Officers, and member of Oakville Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Greater St. Peter Baptist Church, CMMBA. and all neighboring churches of Plaquemines Parish, employees of Plaquemines Parish Government, Saia Freight, Jeff erson Parish School Board, Burger King, and Kroger Specialty Pharmacy attended the visitation and funeral service on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Oakville Missionary Baptist Church, 11280 LA-23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037. Bishop Wilfret Johnson was the officiant. Interment followed in Oakville Cemetery. The family also received guest for a visitation on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Robinson Family Funeral Home 9611 Highway 23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037.
