On Saturday, March 23, Plaquemines Parish voters participated in an election that featured races that were specific to the Democratic or Republican political parties and, more importantly, seven millage renewals. While the vast majority of these millage renewals passed, one millage renewal did fail by a thin margin. This means Plaquemines Parish Government (PPG) officials will either have to let the millage fall off next year and operate with less revenue or attempt to get the millage renewal passed at upcoming election.
