The holidays may have passed, but it didn’t matter to the Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival Queens! Last year, the queens missed out on their annual holiday gathering due to COVID-19 and it came close this year.

While keeping with the “Support Local” theme, attendees enjoyed a wonderful “Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival Queen Holiday Bash” evening at El Paso in Belle Chasse last month in January.

“We had excellent service and danced the night away to R&R Smokin’ Foundation - they are so good we were able to “reel” them in to perform this year at the Seafood Festival,” said Dondra Kientz, Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival Queen Coordinator.

The Seafood Family relished each other’s company, enjoyed a “White Elephant” ornament exchange and took advantage of sharing community with each other and patrons in the restaurant.

“We missed a few of our queens (who were out of town and working) but they sent their love and were definitely there in spirit,” said Brigette Belair, Seafood Festival Queen Committee Member. “Thanks to everyone who helped celebrate our “Nautical Crew” and we hope to “reel in” everyone this year - “hook, line and sinker!” Happy New Year!”

Plaquemines Parish can’t wait to enjoy every “spicy” minute of the Plaquemines Parish Seafood Fest this year... April 29 - May 1!
