For years, Fort St. Philip has laid in ruins with overgrown grass and trees. The Plaquemines Port, Harbor & Terminal District (PPHTD) staff recently took a trip down to see what’s left of the historic masonry fort. Fort St. Philip is located on the Eastbank of Plaquemines Parish and just opposite to Fort Jackson. It’s about 40 miles upriver from the mouth of the Mississippi River…
