Rotarians gathered at Stonebridge Golf Club to recognize those members who went above and beyond in their service e_orts and to ocially welcome the 2023-2024 ocers and directors of the club.

Louisiana Legislature Passes Two 'Port Oversight' Bills, Sparking Worries of State Involvement within PPHTD

During the final days of the 2023 legislative session, the Louisiana state legislature passed two bills (Senate Bill 74 and Senate Bill 214) that have major implications for the future development of both the state port system and the Plaquemines Parish port. Upon first hearing of these bills early in the legislative session, Plaquemines Port Harbor & Terminal District (PPHTD) commissioners were concerned that these bills would negatively impact the port’s autonomy and development. While, in statements to the Plaquemines Gazette, a few of the port officials have come around to take a more optimistic view of these two senate bills, there are those who still hold those same concerns.

Knowing what to do during a tropical event is your best protection and your responsibility._ _e Plaquemines Parish Government Critical Transportation Needs Evacuation Plan is designed for individuals who do not have transportation to evacuate when recommended by Emergency Management planners for tropical events. A combination of bus routes and satellite collection points will be used to pick up and organize the evacuees. Plaquemines Parish Government has pre-determined several satellite collection points throughout the Parish. _e locations of these sites will be release in the event of a tropical system.
