New Child Care Facility in Belle Chasse Holds Ribbon Cutting

A new, locally-owned establishment called The Hive held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, May 25. This ribbon cutting celebrated the completion of construction on their Belle Chasse facility and the start of their ability to offer numerous child-care services for children ages 5-10 to local residents.

CPRA Chairman Chip Kline Announces Resignation, Leaving Behind Mixed Legacy in Plaquemines Parish

Chairman of the Coastal Protection & Restoration Authority (CPRA), Executive Assistant to the Governor for Coastal Activities, and highly controversial figure within Plaquemines Parish Chip Kline will be resigning his positions in the state government. With governor John Bel Edwards’s final term in office coming to a close in January 2024, Kline announced that his final day as CPRA chairman will be July 3.

South Plaquemines Tailgate Cook-o_ 2023 at the YMCA Coming this Fall

The South Plaquemines YMCA will host its first annual tailgating cook-off on Saturday, November 4 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. There will be free admission, live music, craft/vendor fair and cornhole tournament.
