Enola Dazet Balliviero, a life-long resident of Plaquemines Parish who in later life enjoyed her stay in Biloxi, Ms., entered into eternal rest on May 11, 2023. Beloved and devoted wife of the late Robert J. Balliviero. Mother of Roberta, grandmother of David, Hillary, and William, and great-grandmother of Jonathan, Jasmine, Robert, and Sienna. Daughter of the late Louise Galmiche Dazet and Leonard A. Dazet. Survived by her younger sister, Joyce D. Frugia, and younger brother Leonard J. Dazet. Everyone she met was her friend. Elsie Margaret Prout Taylor Nelson

Elsie Margaret Prout Taylor Nelson transcended to her heavenly home on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the age of 94. She was born on February 7, 1930 to the late Simon Prout and Mary Avist Prout Brown. She was a native of Boothville, La and a resident of New Orleans, La. Elsie was united in holy matrimony to the late Leo A. Taylor, Sr. and to this union four children was born, Elsie Deal (late Clinton Deal Sr.), Beverly Williams (Prosper Sr.), Leo A. Taylor, Jr. (Myra), and Angela Baksh (Mohamed). She was also the mother of Deanna Smith. She was the sister-in-law of Elaine Prout. She was the sister of the late Samuel Prout, Simon Prout (Beatrice), Elizabeth Taylor (Rev. Joseph), Mary Taylor (Clarence), Irma Palmer Jones (Cleveland), Angeline Jones (Richard), and Madeline Prout. Elsie had 14 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was the Godmother of Joycelyn Toulouse, Cheryl Toulouse, Melvin Pansy, and Joseph Sapp. Elsie was later blessed with a second marriage to the late Rev. Isreal G. Nelson. Elsie leaves to cherish many wonderful memories to her beloved children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, Godchildren, sister-inlaw, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastor, officers and members of Rock of Ages B. C. attended the the Viewing and Celebration of Life Service officiated by Pastor Jonathan Everett at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 1921 N. Tonti St., in New Orleans, La., on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Keith 'Rub' Andry departed this life on April 25, 2024, at West Jefferson Hospital in Marrero, La. He was a graduate of Boothville Venice High School. Son of the late Angelia Jones Robinson. He is survived by his companion Tina Jackson, father, Johnny Andry Sr., and his son Tyler Sylve. He is also survived by his siblings, Todd (Brittany), Shawn (Katie), Danielle Jones, Travis Andry, Daniel Williams, and Nicole Pellerin and his grandmother Angeline Andry. Grandson of the late Ethel Gertrude Jones and Earl A. Jones Sr. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Angelia Robinson, brother, Johnny Andry Jr., and one son Holden Sylve. His grandparents, Ethel Gertrude Jones and Earl A. Whitney Paul Greene

Whitney Paul Greene of Phenix City, Al., died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, surrounded by his family, at the age of 75. Mr. Greene was born July 26, 1948, in New Orleans, La., son of the late Elwood Brooks Greene, Sr. and Verna Gauthreaux Greene. He proudly served our country during the Vietnam War while in the U.S. Army. After his military service he joined the civilian work force and retired from IWS as a manager. He loved music from the Fifties and Sixties, but his passion was “Swamp Pop” as he was a true Cajun. Mr. Greene was always smiling, dancing and sharing with others. He never seemed to miss an opportunity to lift others up and be positive. Mr. Greene never met a stranger either, everyone was drawn to him. He will be missed deeply, but never forgotten as his acts of kindness to family and friends will live on in our hearts. Mr. Greene was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Verna Greene, his wife, Rose Mary Melancon Greene; a brother, Elwood Brooks Greene, Jr; a son, Brent Greene and a granddaughter, Christyn “Crissi” Buffinet. Survivors include his son, Paul Greene (Sabrina), Phenix City, Al.; the apples of his eye, four grandchildren, Keylan “Jerome” Duncan, Kailyn Duncan, Janna Greene and Belle Greene; several Godchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. (EST) in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with U. S. Army honors according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, Al.

Dr. Kevin John Hebert passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the age of 54. Beloved husband of Gary Dampier. Father of Ryan Hebert (Maegan), and Haley Hebert (Brandon). Son of the late Herman and Kay Hebert. Brother of Angela, Keith, Kim, Amy, Kent, Kurt, and the late Kirby. Grandfather of Raegan. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and his former wife, Joette Hebert. He enjoyed traveling, working out, eating all types of seafood and was an avid Saints fan. He was a native on Montegut, La., and a resident of Belle Chasse, La. Irene Short was born on July 20, 1939 and passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of 64 years to Edward Short. Mother of Edward Short Jr. (Melinda), Michael Short, and Melissa Scheu. Grandmother of Brandon Ryan, T.J. Scheu, Taylor and Savannah Short. Great-grandmother of Nola Susan Scheu. She is preceded in death by her twin sister, Lorraine “Beede” Clipper, brother, Cyrus Ordoyne, and sister Gloria Ragas; parents, Elise Buras, Wallace Ordoyne and stepfather, Herbert W. Buras. She was born in New Orleans, La., graduated from Buras High School, Class of 1958, and lived in Terrytown, La., for over 58 years. She worked as a teller for Delta Bank in Triumph, La., worked for Plaquemines Parish Orange packing shed as a secretary and The Times-Picayune newspaper. She was also a licensed beautician. Rosalie Vegas Pujol

Rosalie Vegas Pujol was taken by our heavenly father on March 20, 2024 at the age of 82. Rose was born in Harvey, La., but traveled to many locations as a Navy wife before residing in Metairie, La., for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Anthony Vegas and Emelda Cantrelle, her brother, Autry Vegas, daughter Deanne Pujol Lopez, and her beloved husband of 53 years, Edward S. Pujol, Jr. Rose ended her years as a resident of Riverbend nursing home in Belle Chasse, LA, where her love of Hershey bars, coca cola and playing cards, as well as her quick wittedness and fun loving personality resulted in her reign as the Queen of Mardi Gras 2022, and made her a Riverbend legend. Rose was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her ever-growing family and will be forever missed. She is survived by her children, Dora Schouest (Lee), Edward S. Pujol, III (Steven), Darla Chin (Richard), Dana Pujol, Erron Pujol (Antonio), and Jennifer Fonseca Alexander (Lee); nine grandchildren, Erica Schouest, Matthew Bertucci (Kelly), Ryan Bertucci (Victorya), Erron Pujol, Jr. (Alora), Kyle Pujol, Glen Schouest (Sacha'), Stephen Bertucci, Richard Chin, Jr., Lindsey Pujol; and seven great-grandchildren, Laine Murphy, Gigi George, Stephanie George, Mara Hancox, Wren Hancox, Mia Bertucci, and Antoine Schouest (and a new arrival due soon); her beloved puppy Pee Wee, and many other family members and friends. Dolores Beauvais

Dolores Beauvais entered eternal life on March 14, 2024 at the age of 99. She was a native of Cutoff, La., and lived in Venice, La., until Katrina then Houma, La. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Newton E. Beauvais, Jr. and her parents Morris A. Compeaux and Sadie Larousse Compeaux. She had 11 children, Newton E. Beauvais III (Late Barbara), Susan Loga (Melvin), Victor Beauvais (Teresa), the late Robin Beauvais, Mark Beauvais, Elizabeth Rigsby (Jimmy), Chris Beauvais (Patricia), Patrick Beauvais (Christine), Joseph Beauvais (Lois), Ann Luther, and the late Bonnie Deck (Don). She was blessed with 55 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Dolores was a devoted parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church in Houma, La.; Our Lady of Good Harbor in Buras, La.; St Anthony Church in Venice, La.; and St. Ann Church in Empire, La. She enjoyed reading the bible and gardening. She loved spending time with her family especially at her Sunday dinners. Her joy was her grand and great grandchildren and getting time to play with them.

Betty Lane Comardelle

Betty Lane Barthelemy Comardelle peacefully transitioned on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at the age of 77. She is the daughter of the late Victor Barthelemy and Christine Barthelemy. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Comardelle. She was a loving mother of Rhonda Comardelle Arceneaux (Carroll) and Debra Comardelle Rankin (Willie). She is the devoted grandmother of Kayla Comardelle, Eleni Melancon (Brian), Emma Rankin, Cassie Rankin, and Donald Arceneaux (the Favorite). She is the loving great-grandmother of Jaimie Matalamaki III, Hayes Melancon and Henry Melancon. She is a loving sister of Sibyl Blanchard and Kirk Barthelemy. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and devoted friends. She was a native of Buras, La., and in her early years she was employed by Plaquemines Parish School Board as a cafeteria worker. In her spare time, she cleaned houses and cared for the elderly. Betty was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She enjoyed being outside, especially under Debra's big oak tree. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. She was predeceased by her late parents, Victor and Christine Barthelemy, and her siblings, Vivian, Denesse and Victor (Junior) Barthelemy.
