Frederick Allen Webster, Sr.

Frederick Allen Webster, Sr., a native of Mobile, Alabama and a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for the past 10 years, passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 83. Frederick began his career with Chevron in 1967, working as a Chemical Operator and Machinist in the oil and gas industry. After 25 years of dedicated service, he retired in 1993. Throughout his career, he remained deeply involved in labor relations, serving on the Labor Relations Board for more than 20 years. He furthered his knowledge by studying Labor Law at Loyola University. Frederick also served on the Credit Bureau for 17 years, including three years as President. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he successfully owned and operated three businesses. Outside of his career, Frederick found great joy in cooking and spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted and enthusiastic Alabama football fan and proudly cheered on his team with his well-known phrase, “Roll Tide Roll.” Frederick is survived by his wife of over 24 years, Jeanette Wade Webster; children, Frederick A Webster, Jr. (Jennifer), Tavia Thompson (Chris), Karen Lyons (Billy), Terry Carter, Gary Carter and William Carter; grandchildren, Megan Nelson, Katie Webster, Amber Webster, Brennan Webster, Heidi Webster, Crystal McDougle (Trey), Madelyn Carter, Rachael Clayton (Michael), Jay Griggs (Yoana), and Jeremy Griggs (Johnna), Eric Carter (Robyn), Kyle Carter (Tessie), Madison Carter, MacKenzie Chiasson (McKye), Coby Carter (Alexandra), Kevin Carter (Vanessa); great grandchildren, Tayson, Lino, Tiago, Karter, Goldie, William, Author, Roland, Kolston, Hudson, Naomi, Parker, Paislee, Cole, Noah, Jackson, Whitney, James, Julianna, Carter, and Kylie; siblings, Helen Webster DeLange (John), Duncanville, TX, Candice Webster Linstrom (Ronald), Lakeview, OH; and exwife, Mary Ann Webster. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gloria; father, Fred; stepmother, Shirley; brothers, Richard, Stanley, Charles; and ex-wife and mother of his children, Linda D. Marcantel Webster. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family would like to extend special thanks to Acadian Ambulance, Lafayette General Emergency, all of Frederick’s family and friends, and especially Dennis Luther for their care, support, and kindness. A memorial service will be held at Fountain Memorial, 1010 Pandora St. Lafayette, LA 70506 on Saturday, February 28, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
