Delores Cecilia Tinson

Delores Tinson was called from labor to reward and affectionately into eternal rest on Thursday, February 18, 2026, at her home at the age of 88, releasing her from the pain and suffering of this world. She was born on September 24, 1937, to the late Theodora Williams Tinson and Oliver Tinson Sr. Delores was a native of Pointe-A-La-Hache, Louisiana. From an early age, she demonstrated notable qualities of kindness, intelligence, humor, and resilience. She carried out her daddy wishes in caring for her siblings. Delores trained to be a teacher after finishing her schooling in the Plaquemines Parish School System and furthering her education at Southern University Baton Rouge. She taught school for more than 40 years. Her teaching career began at Phoenix High School and later she moved to New Jersey and continued teaching. delores dedication and hard work earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Delores moved back to Louisiana and was well known throughout Plaquemines Parish and surrounding areas. Beyond her professional achievements, Delores was a woman of many passions and talents. She found joy in crafting, reading, and helping others. Whether it was project making or spending time with her family, Delores lived life with enthusiasm and gratitude. Family was at the center of her life. Delores was a devoted friend, teacher to anyone who met her. She was a pillar of strength and guidance to her family, teaching them the values of hard work, compassion, and integrity. Her family was her pride and joy, and she delighted in every moment spent with them. She leaves to mourn 3 sisters; Olivia Tinson, Ellestine Ellis, and Marie McNeil, 3 brothers; Louis Sr., Nicholas and Martin Tinson; one Sister-in-Law, Annie Mae Tinson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Delores is preceded in death by her parents Oliver and Theodora Williams Tinson, Sr.; four brothers Oliver Jr. August, Peter, and Joseph Tinson. Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at St. Thomas Catholic Church located at 17605 Hwy 15 Point-A-la-Hache, LA 70082. The visitation began at 9 a.m., and the service followed at 11 a.m. Father Sampson Abduli officiated and entombment followed at St. Thomas Catholic Church 70082.
