Gayle Burmaster Lawrence (January 27, 1942 - January 6, 2026) passed away peacefully in her Myrtle Grove home on January 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness and devotion to her family. Gayle will be remembered for a warm heart, a generous spirit and the deep care shown to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a loving family member and took great pride in those closest to her. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Warren Lawrence, her sons Brian J. Lawrence (Tracey) and Bruce Lawrence (Dawn). She was the proud grandmother to Brian R. Lawrence (Hannah), Devin Lawrence, Dillon Lawrence and Drew Lawrence and the great grandmother to Ella and Eli. She was also survived by her sister Tammy Burmaster Burke Mike) and brother Larry Masters. She succeeded her sister Lynne in death. Gayle was a retired former employee of the New Orleans Recreational Department and St. Julien Eymard of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Gayle's life was marked by compassion and strength. Her memory will live on through the stories shared, the love she gave and the family she cherished so deeply. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved her. A memorial service will be announced by the family in the upcoming weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family request a donation in her memory to the SPCA or Fishing for Charities, Inc.
