Mark Alan Newberry, age 61, passed away peacefully at home on June 24, 2025. He was the son of the late Charles J. Newberry, III and Marie Louise “Susie” Newberry. He leaves behind his loving daughters, Charli Newberry (grandson Austin), and Tina Newberry (grandchildren Shaneise, Shazeel, Samiyah, Santana, and TreBez); and is survived by his five siblings Cindi Koch (Bart), Brian Newberry (Cathy), Chris Newberry (Trudy), Kevin Newberry (Michaela), and Keri Armstrong (Murray). Mark was born in Algiers on April 9, 1964. He was raised in Jesuit Bend (Plaquemines) learning to be an avid sportsman and top marksman, fishing and hunting alongside his father, brothers and friends. He always contributed to the family farm throughout his lifetime. Mark attended school in Belle Chasse. His first job was at PRS Coating, and he was there for over a decade. He left when they were sold, working as a supervisor. He then worked as an equipment operator and finished his career out at Bayou Electrical. In his early years he enjoyed and mastered riding rigid-frame, jockey shift motorcycles. He later rode motorcycles cross-country on numerous trips to Daytona & throughout the Florida Panhandle, the Smoky Mountains, the Rocky Mountains and the Black Hills. He spent his last 10 years outdoors enjoying time with his daughter Charli, grandson Austin, and dog Kas, taking care of the citrus trees, planting annual gardens, raising chickens, starting bee hives, and keeping the wild coyotes at bay when traveling across the property. His evening motorcycle rides were a highlight of most days while stopping to visit numerous friends. He was the same person throughout his life and will be highly missed by all that knew and loved him. Mark’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 2:00 – 5:00 pm at Bayou Electricals’ shop at 1843 Peters Road.
