Community Prayer Breakfast Set for May 29 at the Croatian House

Body
On Wednesday, May 29, at 7:30 a.m., our community will gather for the inaugural Plaquemines Parish Take the Journey Prayer Breakfast. This event is designed to fortify the spirit and unity of the area as we continue to face ongoing challenges, such as our upcoming hurricane season. The Prayer Breakfast, poised to become a vital tradition in Plaquemines Parish, will provide an energetic communal embrace, offering prayers and reflections for safety and strength. It aims to unite our community along with businesses in preparation for these continuing challenges but also serves as a reminder of our proven capacity for recovery and renewal.

2023 PLAQUEMINES PARISH SEAFOOD FESTIVAL QUEEN: Juliana Guajardo

Body
“It’s never too late to become what you’ve always wanted to be in the first place,” is something I have followed since the moment I was crowned as the 2023 Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival Queen. The past year has been filled with love, laughter, confidence, patience, passion and making every moment count! The 2023 Festival was something I truly will never forget! I learned to shuck an oyster, had some amazing seafood, helped our 2022 queens hold a kids pageant, stayed late every night dancing and singing to all of our great bands! I have traveled from Venice all the way to Gueydan and everywhere in between, Louisiana truly is the best state around! I’ve picked fresh citrus off of trees at the Plaquemines Parish Orange Festival, read books to kids at the Belle Chasse Library, ate some amazing tasty crawfish at the LA Crawfish Festival, cleaned up our beautiful Historic Fort Jackson, and the list could go on forever! Being the 2023 Seafood Queen has given me so much more respect for our hardworking fisherman and seafood industry.
