Submissions for Solar Art Competition to Celebrate Creativity and Environmental Sustainability Due on May 19

Active Parenting: Get Support and Learn New Skills Active Parenting is a six-week support and growth program where participating parents and caregivers discuss the challenges of parenting and focus on specific areas of skill and knowledge development for parents. Topics covered, among others include improving communication with your kids; helping kids build a spirit of cooperation, responsibility, courage, and healthy self-esteem; exploring different techniques of discipline; and understanding and redirecting misbehavior.

Plaquemines Historical Association Meeting 'The 1815 Battle of New Orleans' is the topic of the Plaquemines Historical Association meeting on Tuesday, May 7. The meeting will be held at the Belle Chasse American Legion Hall, 104 Hunt Street from 6:30 p.m.

THE VOICE OF THE OILERS: BVES Holds Winter Formal

On January 26, Boothville-Venice Elementary School (BVES) hosted its Annual Winter Formal. Students dressed up to enjoy a fun night filled with music and snacks! The students enjoyed an amazing night dancing and hanging out with their friends. This event was hosted by our sixth grade teachers Ms. Wilson and Mrs. Williams to help raise funds for the annual sixth grade end of the year program, which will take place in May. Overall, this event turned out to be a fun and successful night that BVES students will remember for a long time.
