Elizabeth Jean Matherne entered into eternal rest on November 23, 2025. Loving partner of Jimmy Mellos for almost 15 years. Beloved daughter of Odelia E. Newman and the late Eugene Matherne. Sister of Donna M. Reyer (Kevin) and Rachel M. Patton (Benjie). Mother of Tabitha Benitez (Regalado) and Candace Matherne (Chazz). Grandmother of Alexis, Sincere, Regalado Jr., Noah, Autumn, Carmen, and Colton. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Age 58 years and a lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish. Elizabeth loved to spend time in the outdoors on the water. She will be deeply missed by all. We want to say a huge thank you to the Heart Of Hospice for all there help. Relatives and Friends of the Family were invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 1:30 PM. Visitation was held from 9:30 AM until service time. Interment was held at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
