Looking for a Good Street Tree?

When asked to recommend a street tree for the New Orleans area that “plays nice” with power lines, I usually have three that come to mind. Crepe myrtles and vitex are both showy bloomers and easily grow in the “hell strip” between the curb and sidewalk.
