District 105 State Representative Jacob Braud participated in his first legislative session in 2024 and was honored to witness his first bill being signed by Governor Jeff Landry. HB 514 revised the contract limits for bid bonds from $50,000 to $100,000 on certain Department of Transportation projects. It allows small projects to move quicker, and the bill adjusted the limits for inflation. State Senator Pat Connick, seated left, authored SB 166 to create stricter packaging and marketing requirements to make consumers aware of foreign imported seafood. The bill was recently signed by Governor Jeff Landry. The bill was handled in the House of Representatives by Jacob Braud.
State Representative Jacob Braud received a “Humane Legislator of the Year” award for HB 641 which creates a “Support Wildlife Rehabilitation” specialty license plate that will provide funds to support licensed wildlife rehabilitators and licensed wildlife rehabilitation centers. It was presented by the Humane Society of Louisiana Executive Director Jeffery Dorson.
